The Crafted Trail

We offer small group adventure travel tours that explore regional cuisines, farm based breweries, distilleries and wineries. We could not be more delighted that the farm to table artisanal food movement in America has become part of the modern collective conscious. To us, knowing the origins of our food has always been a way of life. We are excited to offer road trips and active travel tours that celebrate local food and support farmlands to sustain them for the next generation. Our team has over 20 years experience each working for the biggest names in the small group adventure travel market in the US, leading guests from all over the world throughout the USA, Canada and tours to Mexico.

Day 1: New York City to Kingston
We depart the city in the morning and head out towards the unique college town of New Paltz; a mecca for outdoor sports enthusiasts. We will make a quick stop to explore the village and explore the historic Huegenot settlements before heading up the mountain to Minnewaska State Park. We will spend the majority of the day hiking this park and taking in the spectacular views, waterfalls, sky lakes and sheer cliffs nestled into a dense forest backdrop.
After our hike, we head to Kingston; the first capitol of New York State. Free time will be given to explore the historic Stockade District and its colonial architechture and vibrant arts scene before having our first group dinner in one of the city’s fine restaurants.
Overnight in Kingston.

Day 2: Kingston to Cooperstown
Today we take a scenic drive through the Catskills as we head to Cooperstown; famous for beer and baseball. We will visit Brewery Ommegang and take a tour and tastings of their Belgian style beers made on a historic hop farm. Afterwords we will visit Cooperstown Brewing Company; one of the original pioneers of the New York craft beer renaissance for samples of their baseball themed beers before heading to downtown Oneonta. We will visit Roots Brewing Company for a flight of their tap selections before arriving at the hotel. After checking in, we meet up again for dinner in one of the outstanding downtown Oneonta restaurants.
Overnight in Oneonta.

Day 3: Cooperstown to Watkins Glen
Heading towards the Finger Lakes region, we will stop in the vibrant college town of Ithaca. Free time will be given for exploring and lunch. After lunch we head to Watkins Glen State Park and hike into this rare East Coast slot canyon with its numerous waterfalls and unique rock formations. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent exploring and hiking this photogenic geological marvel before heading to the Village of Watkins Glen for a flight of craft beer from RoosterFish Brewing. Day 4: Watkins Glen to Niagara Falls
A full day awaits us in the Niagara Falls region where we will get up close to the action of the forces of nature on the Maid of the Mist boat tours. After our boat trip we cross the border into Canada where we will travel up the Niagara escarpment to Niagara-On-The-Lake; a well preserved 19th century village in the heart of Ontario’s wine region considered to be the prettiest village in Ontario. We will stop at a winery to sample the sweet yet sophisticated ice wines the region is renown for before arriving in town to stroll the streets and shops of this quaint village. We then return to the glitz and kitsch of Niagara Falls to explore the Canadian side and witness the evening illumination of the falls. (a valid passport or NYS Enhanced Drivers License required to cross the border)
Overnight in Niagara Falls.

Day 5: Niagara to Syracuse
On our way to Syracuse, we will stop at one of the numerous wineries in the picturesque Finger Lakes region. Once in Syracuse, you will have the day free to explore the beautiful historic architecture and museums that New York’s fourth largest city has to offer. We will meet up again to visit Middle Ages Brewing and Empire Brewing as a group for flights of beers at their downtown taphouses.

Day 6: Syracuse to Tupper Lake
A gorgeous drive through the heart of the Adirondack Mountains will lead us to the village of Tupper Lake where we will spend the day exploring the Wild Center; a natural history center which recently opened the exciting Wild Walk canopy walk that takes visitors up a trail of bridges to the treetops of the Adirondack forest. The Wild Walk experience includes a four-story twig tree house and swinging bridges, a spider’s web where people can hang out, and chances to just sit and observe the forest below. There’s a full-sized bald eagle’s nest at the highest point where visitors can perch and contemplate. When we come down from the canopy, its time to sample the local brews at Raquette River Brewing before heading to the village of Tupper Lake for dinner (not included) and our hotel for the evening.
